Haycock Manor Hotel Wedding Photographer, Peterborough

Natural, Documentary Wedding Photography at a Historic Cambridgeshire Manor Venue

The Haycock Manor Hotel (often referred to simply as the Haycock Hotel) is a stunning 16th-century Coaching Inn wedding venue nestled in the charming village of Wansford near Peterborough in Cambridgeshire. Surrounded by picturesque countryside, manicured gardens and the tranquil River Nene, this historic estate offers a versatile and character-filled setting for weddings of all sizes and styles.

As an experienced documentary wedding photographer, I’ve had the privilege to photograph numerous weddings here — and I understand how to use the venue’s light, spaces and scenic backdrops to create beautiful, timeless wedding images that tell your story.

Why Haycock Manor Hotel Works So Well for Wedding Photography

Historic Character with Versatile Spaces

Haycock Manor Hotel’s architecture and interiors combine elegance with rustic charm. The venue’s oak-beamed Manor Suite and grand Haycock Ballroom (with ornate fireplaces and plenty of natural light) provide beautiful backdrops for both your ceremony and reception.

The manor garden, courtyard spaces and riverside grounds offer relaxed, open-air locations for portraits and group photos, while the hotel’s historic features add depth and character to more formal shots.

Ceremonies & Reception Options

Elegant Indoor Ceremonies

The Manor Suite is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies and is filled with natural light, making it perfect for couples who want a classic indoor celebration with a warm, contemporary feel.

Grand Receptions

The Haycock Ballroom provides a spacious reception space capable of hosting up to 250 guests with a dedicated dance floor, bar and plenty of room for dinner and dancing — ideal for storytelling photography from ceremony through to evening celebrations.

Gardens & Riverside Portrait Opportunities

Surrounded by 12 acres of landscaped gardens and lawns, Haycock Manor is a venue where natural light and scenery create a variety of photographic opportunities. The riverside setting along the River Nene is particularly special at golden hour, offering soft, romantic light and gorgeous reflection shots

My Approach to Wedding Photography at Haycock Manor

My style here is focused on:

  • Documentary coverage: capturing emotions and real moments throughout your day
  • Natural use of light: both indoors and outdoors
  • Environmental portraits: embracing the gardens, river settings and architecture
  • Unobtrusive guidance: perfect for relaxed and authentic images

Whether it’s a large celebration or a more intimate gathering, my aim is to document your wedding day as it unfolds naturally — creating a collection of timeless images that you’ll cherish forever.

Real Weddings at Haycock Manor

It’s a location where meaningful moments unfold at every turn — from the first look in the lawn area to emotional first dances in the grand ballroom.
